Your new role 
As a Data Analyst, you will provide data-driven solutions to support our research and consulting teams. Ensuring good data practices are followed in line with JANA’s data management standards. 
This role can be based out of our Melbourne/Sydney office or as a remote role working out of Tasmania and will report to the Data Team Lead.  
 
Some of your duties will include: 

• Work with business teams to understand their data and reporting needs and identify areas for optimisation and automation. 
• Design processes and solutions that meet business reporting and analytics needs. 
• Collect, analyse, and interpret large volumes of data from various sources to identify trends, patterns, and insights. 
• Work within our data platform to create data flows and objects for reuse across the business. 
• Create reports, dashboards, and interactive visualizations to present complex data in a clear and concise manner. 
• Maintain and update data catalogue, ensuring completeness of metadata capture and data ownership in line with the data management standards. 
• Stay updated with emerging data analysis techniques, tools, and industry best practices. 
• Support operations and other teams in understanding data analytics trends, techniques, and tooling to improve data maturity across the organisation. 

About you 
You bring experience in understanding the needs of the business and delivering data related solutions to meet these needs. Communication is one of your strengths whether this is with your team or stakeholders. You are self-driven and proactive that requires a minimum of oversite. 
As a key member of the Data team, you have good analysis skills and strong technical skills including: 

• Proficiency in SQL with SQL Server and Microsoft Synapse. 
• Power BI visualisation and report building 
• Familiar with Data pipelines and data flows 

3+ years of relevant work experience.  Previous experience in the superannuation industry and/or investment markets is highly desirable.
