Data & Analytics Manager

Role Snapshot:

• Highly visible and commercial Data & Analytics Manager role for rapidly growing global FMCG market leader in Western Sydney. Hybrid working options available and supported (typically 2 days in the office per week);

• Mix of strategic and hands on technical transformation work (i.e., BI platform move from on-premise to cloud, build of new data warehouse in Azure, new business data models and operational reporting);
• Heavy business engagement and stakeholder facing role driving analytical reporting and insights that support executive decision making. You'll sit at the table with key business stakeholders and help them unpick their problems through data;
• Over time, drive the company's journey to AI / machine learning and other emerging technologies; and
• Salary: $180,000 + superannuation.

Your New Role:

You'll be responsible for leading and overseeing all aspects of the organization's business intelligence functions. Partnering closely across various group companies, you'll own the continued development and evolution of business intelligence, reporting, analytics and the supporting technologies and platforms to support the organisation's needs. This includes data analysis, reporting, data warehousing, and ensuring data-driven decision-making processes are in place. The role will encompass the development, execution and support of the technology platforms and analytical reporting to deliver a comprehensive and functional suite of BI and reporting. You'll continue to advance and transition the organisation to modern cloud-based solutions consistent with the broader IT strategy.

You'll be accountable for:

• Collaborating on and establishing a comprehensive BI, Data & reporting strategy, in partnership with key business stakeholders;
• Developing and driving the roadmap for delivery of the BI & reporting strategy as well as the supporting technology and systems;
• Effectively collaborating with and communicating to senior stakeholders on the BI & reporting roadmap and strategy;
• Developing data analysis, interpretation, and the creation of meaningful reports and dashboards;
• Collaborating with various businesses and departments to understand data and reporting requirements;
• Identifying, recommending, and implementing BI & reporting tools, technologies, and data management solutions, including transitioning from on-premise to cloud-based solutions;
• Ensuring data security and compliance with relevant regulations and controls;
• Driving continuous improvement in BI & reporting processes, methodologies, and data quality
• Overseeing the delivery of user training and enablement to ensure effective and appropriate use of the BI and reporting systems;
• Leading and managing the BI & data team, developing their skillsets, fostering innovation and continuous improvement;
• Gathering requirements, acceptance criteria and scoping new projects, building and articulating business cases and presenting these for review and approval;
• Engaging with new and existing vendors to find suitable solutions and / or resourcing, managing the vendor relationships, their resources and delivery accordingly; and
• Leading and managing projects to deliver approved solutions, seeing these through to business integration and handover where relevant.

About You:

• Strong business acumen, stakeholder management and communication skills. These are the most important attributes of this role;
• Proven experience and business exposure in a similar role across Data Leadership, or a Senior Data Engineer / Data Architect role where you feel you're ready for that next step in your career;
• Experience leading or mentoring small teams;
• Strong experience creating dashboards and using ETL capabilities to shape data;
• Experience in the Azure data stack (e.g. Synapse) and Azure data warehousing;
• Experience with Qliksense advantageous however not essential;
• Experience working in an agile environment; and
• Friendly, dynamic personality with a growth mindset for continuous learning and improvement. A key personality trait of helping others and your organisation through data enabled decision making.
