Data Engineer

This exciting position will report to the Data Analytics Manager and aim to design, develop, and build Data Models, ETL processes and Data Pipelines which Centurion uses for key insights to support decisions across the business, as well as providing data and reporting support for business end users.

Tasks & Responsibilities

• Design and develop data solutions to enhance decision-making capabilities.
• Responsible for end-to-end Data warehouse architecture, development, and maintenance.
• Design and build ETL processes for our data warehouse.
• Design and develop optimal data pipeline architecture for data movement and orchestration.
• Design and development of data models, data processing systems and ETL framework.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders to identify key business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Ability to identify data deficiencies and work with the business and/or development teams to propose and implement solutions for improved data quality.
• Work within team norms, standards, and procedures to provide consistency across the business.
• Review the work of other members of the Data Analytics team and provide feedback and suggestions for areas of improvement.
• Use data to create models that help improve business efficiency and predict trends.

Skills & Experience

• 5+ years hand on experience in Data warehousing, cloud-based solutions and Microsoft Data Technology stack
• Degree or Diploma in IT related field
• Experience in Data Engineering environment, with hands on experience building and maintaining complex data solutions and environments
• Demonstrate experience with data warehousing principles, data architecture, modelling, database design, and performance optimisation best practices
• Demonstrate experience with developing and building data assets and optimal data pipelines from scratch to orchestrate transformation into the Data Warehouse and supporting analytics solutions with ETL/ELT tools
• Experience with Python and MS Azure technologies. Comfortable with Snowflakes, Databricks, DBT, or similar. Strong SQL skills.
• Ability to collaborate and interact with technical users, managers, and business end users to ensure solutions are aligned to requirements
• Willingness to learn and progress with the ability to inspire, coach and develop more junior team members
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
• High degree of analytical skill and sound knowledge of business procedures
• Delivery and outcome-focused with a constructive approach to challenges and problem solving
