Test Engineer.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe main duty of the
Test Engineer is to be motivated to improve product quality. This is achieved by following the V-Model principles, by applying integration, verification, validation and test principles based on product requirements and team deliverables. The application of verification and test principles typically takes the form of creating and executing test suites/plans through user or automated testing.You will be responsible for the design and development of new test suites with a focus on
Data management and Networking.
- Apply V-Model strategies that document and trace software testing to requirements in the context of distributed and real-time systems.
- Contribute to a culture focused on quality and continuous improvement.
- Utilise standards, workflows and best practices in Rail applications. (EN50128, EN50159 or similar)
- Design and Execute integration, test & verification plans.
- Develop and maintain continuous integration & continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
In this role, you will also have the opportunity to write software in one or more of the languages described below.You will work alongside hardware designers and other software developers.You will be joining a team who work in an agile environment. Due to the size of the team, you should possess very strong analytical and problem-solving skills coupled with excellent communications skills. This is excellent opportunity to take part in full lifecycle product development in a highly supportive team environment.
Qualifications and Experience- Experience in software testing, preferably for Data management and Networking in relevant industries (mining, marine, rail, automotive).
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science / Software / Network Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in design and delivery of complex data warehousing and Data management field.
- Experience with writing and optimising SQL queries is essential.
- Experience with Python is highly advantageous.
- Experience with Confluence, Jira and GitHub for issue tracking and version control workflow is highly advantageous.
- Experience with industrial communication protocols (i.e. Layer 2, Layer 3 networking config, Modbus, Ethernet/IP, Profinet, OPC-UA, CAN bus, DDS, SafeDDS) is highly advantageous.
- Experience with cybersecurity testing. (IEC 62443 or similar)
- Experience with AWS cloud platform is highly advantageous.
- Knowledge of network, server and cyber security best practices is highly advantageous.
- Excellent troubleshooting, analytical and communications skills.
- Proven ability to work with diverse stakeholders and in multidiscipline teams.
- Ability to apply creative thinking to solve problems.
