AddressEden Ritchie is seeking a Data Management Officer to query, retrieve, analyse and present data in accordance with the requirements of performance measurement reporting activities and requests. You will ensure the accuracy, reliability and security of data required for analytical and reporting purposes.
The Data Management Officer reports to the Director, Performance Monitoring and Reporting Unit, Strategy and Performance Branch, Policy, Performance and Planning Division.
- 6 month contract with possible 6 month extension
- Brisbane CBD location
As the Data Management Officer, your key responsibilities will include:
- Use departmental tools and resources (including Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio and Excel) to query and retrieve data stored in corporate information systems and databases, and to analyse and present this data in various formats for the use of other departmental units and officers.
- Develop, maintain, update and test periodic reports (including Excel spreadsheets and Word documents) for school, region and central office users
- Check and quality assure the work of colleagues to maximise the level of team output in terms of quality, accuracy, reliability and influence.
- Participate in the development of statistical analysis, interpretation and reporting procedures for organisation performance related data.
- Review and improve methodologies for processing, maintaining and analysing data to ensure timeliness, data accuracy and efficiency of the processes.
- Participate in the development of policies, guidelines and quality control procedures for the reporting and dissemination of organisation performance related data.
- Proactively identify opportunities for improved client services and outcomes and implement strategies to effect improvements in these areas.
The successful applicant will demonstrate:
- Demonstrated skill in identifying opportunities for improved services and outcomes that are consistent with the achievement of organisational goals.
- Sound knowledge of quantitative Data Management processes, including data storage, security, retrieval, interrogation and reporting and demonstrated ability to apply this knowledge in the use of databases, spreadsheets and other departmental tools (including Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio and Excel) to support analysis and reporting activities.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, schedule and undertake high quality work to meet explicit deadlines and to collaborate within flexible teams to achieve outcomes for clients.
- Demonstrated capacity to provide accurate advice on issues and take personal responsibility for accurate completion of work through multi-tasking and responding to pressure in a calm manner.
- Demonstrate oral and written communication skills to clearly and confidently present messages in a way that is tailored to suit a variety of audiences.
