Qualifications & experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in project management within the data, electrical, and security infrastructure sectors. Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale projects, preferably within the Port of Brisbane or similar environments.
  • Strong knowledge of data, fibre, electrical, CCTV, security, and civil engineering principles and practices. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in project management software and tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under pressure.
  • Occupational, Health and Safety management.
  • Effective project management in a similar environment.
  • Customer account management. Development of strong supplier relationships. Building and maintaining customer relationships.
  • Team leadership experience.
  • Skills - Strategic thinking & vision development, Business acumen & relationship management, Technical expertise in data, electrical & security systems, Financial management & budgeting, Team leadership & mentoring, Innovation & continuous improvement, Risk management & problem-solving.

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Lead and manage multiple projects within the Port of Brisbane portfolio, including data, fibre, electrical, CCTV, security, and civil works. Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies. Ensure all projects comply with relevant industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols. Oversee the design and estimation process for all projects within the portfolio.
  • Collaborate with the design team to develop innovative and cost-effective solutions. Prepare detailed project estimates, including materials, labour, and equipment costs. Ensure accuracy and completeness of all design and estimation documentation.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and partners at the Port of Brisbane. Serve as the primary point of contact for all client communications, ensuring client needs are met and expectations exceeded.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the Port of Brisbane and surrounding areas. Conduct regular client meetings to review project progress, address concerns, and gather feedback.
  • Lead and mentor a team of technicians & other staff associated with Port of Brisbane operations. Foster a collaborative and high-performance team culture. Provide guidance and support to team members, promoting professional development & growth. Conduct reviews and provide constructive feedback.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies & best practices. Identify opportunities for innovation & process improvements within the portfolio. Implement new technologies and methodologies to enhance project delivery & client outcomes. Promote a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring financial targets are met. Monitor project expenditures and implement cost-control measures. Prepare financial reports and forecasts for senior management. Ensure all projects deliver a positive return on investment for ADC.
