We are seeking a skilled and experienced Data Migration Lead to join our dynamic team for a long-term project. The Data Migration Lead will play a critical role in overseeing and executing Data Migration, ensuring the successful transfer of data from legacy systems to the new platform. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Data Migration methodologies, data analysis, and project management, with a proven track record of delivering complex Data Migration initiatives on time and within budget. Some travel will be required.

What you'll do:

• Lead end-to-end Data Migration for the project, including planning, analysis, design, execution, and validation phases.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define Data Migration requirements, scope, and objectives, ensuring alignment with business goals and objectives.
• Develop Data Migration strategies, methodologies, and best practices to ensure the efficient and accurate transfer of data.
• Conduct data profiling and analysis to assess data quality, completeness, and integrity, identifying and resolving data issues as needed.
• Design and implement Data Migration workflows, scripts, and tools to automate migration processes and minimize manual effort.
• Manage data mapping, transformation, and validation activities, ensuring that data is migrated accurately and consistently across systems.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including IT, business users, and external vendors, to facilitate smooth Data Migration activities.
• Monitor and report on Data Migration progress, risks, and issues, proactively addressing any challenges to ensure project success.
• Lead the Data Migration team by providing guidance and support to team members, fostering their professional development and growth.
• Document Data Migration processes, procedures, and outcomes, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.

What you’ve got:

• Ideally a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field.
• Proven experience leading Data Migration projects in complex, enterprise-level environments, within Public Safety and Policing a plus.
• Strong technical skills in data analysis, data modelling, and SQL programming.
• Proficiency with Data Migration tools and technologies, such as ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) tools, data integration platforms, and scripting languages.
• Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks, manage resources, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with keen attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
• Experience working with cloud-based platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and knowledge of data governance and compliance principles are desirable.
• Relevant certifications in data management, project management, or related fields are a plus.

• At least five years relevant experience
