Our client is a Queensland government department that provide support with housing assistance, homelessness support services, local government support and advice, state and regional planning, public works building and design and industry regulatory reform.
In this role, you will support the Data team within the Build to Enable Program. The Data team will prepare a data platform to facilitate Data Migration, report generation and data analytics while you oversee the successful delivery of data warehousing, Data Migration and Reporting functions within a complex program of works.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Strategy and planning: Develop and implement a comprehensive data warehousing and migration strategy and work with the team to develop a plan aligned with program objectives, ensuring the successful transition of the current data warehouse Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) environment to a PaaS environment while adhering to Agile principles and methodologies.
- Functional leadership: Become a member of the program leadership team, which guides data warehousing and migration specialists, reporting analysts and other stakeholders within cross-functional program teams. This role provides guidance, mentorship and support to ensure the successful completion of project deliverables.
- Technical oversight: Provide technical oversight and guidance on Data Migration processes, reporting tools and analytics frameworks, ensuring alignment with program requirements and best practices in data management and visualisation.
- Quality assurance: Establish quality assurance processes and standards for Data Migration and Reporting activities, conducting regular reviews and audits to ensure accuracy, completeness and compliance with program objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Stakeholder management: Collaborate closely with other program leads, business stakeholders, and the program teams to gather requirements, define success criteria and monitor success throughout the Data Migration and Reporting lifecycle.
- Risk management: Contribute effectively in program rituals to identify potential risks and issues and help the program proactively address challenges to minimise disruptions and ensure program success
- Continuous improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimise Data Migration processes, reporting capabilities and analytics frameworks, leveraging Agile principles to adapt and evolve in response to changing business needs and technology trends.
Required Skills & Experiences:
- Extensive experience in leading data warehousing, Migration and Reporting projects within complex program environments, preferably in Agile settings
- Demonstrated and proven expertise in Data Migration tools and methodologies, ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, data modelling and database management systems
- Must possess strong analytical skills and experience in developing and delivering reports, dashboards, and analytics solutions using industry-standard reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, SAP BusinessObjects)
- Must possess excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills, able to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and drive consensus on program objectives and priorities.
