About the team
Our IT Services is a diverse team spread geographically throughout the BDO offices in Australia. You will have approximately 50 colleagues within this national shared services team, who just like you will be contributing to the success of the organisation. The work we do involves both back of house applications and processes as well as assisting our staff and colleagues to find efficiencies and improve the way they work.
Current opportunity
The Data Migration Specialist is responsible for the design and implementation of data transition from our various systems to specific platforms. This role will work with internal and external stakeholders, and cross-functional teams and suppliers to execute large-scale Data Migration projects.
Please note: this role will initially be a 12-month max term contract with a view for extension for the right candidate.
What you’ll be doing
- Lead the end-to-end planning and execution of Data Migration projects.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and suppliers to understand Data Migration requirements and objectives.
- Design and implement robust ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from source to target systems.
- Assess and optimise data quality during migration, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams and suppliers to ensure compatibility with existing and new systems.
- Implement data validation and reconciliation processes to guarantee the integrity of migrated data.
- Troubleshoot and resolve Data Migration issues promptly and efficiently.
- Develop documentation and provide training to internal teams on new data structures and processes.
Our ideal candidate is analytical in nature, loves problem-solving and understands the importance of time management. They have a natural ability to plan and meet deadlines.
Other skills and attributes we are looking for:
- Tertiary qualified in Information Technology or a related discipline.
- Fundamental knowledge of the ITIL framework and or/other IT Service Management methodologies.
- Solid experience in data engineering or migration role with a focus on internal business systems.
- Demonstrated experience in large-scale Data Migration projects across finance, practice management/ERP, payroll and human resources systems.
- Proven expertise in data modelling, ETL development, and database management systems.
- Strong understanding of CRM, Practice Management Systems and Finance systems architecture, data models and integration mechanisms.
- Excellent interpersonal, presentation, written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience maintaining relationships with key stakeholders to achieve the organisation’s objectives.
