- Support the Data Protection Officer (DPO) in ensuring ING's adherence to Data Protection and Privacy Act obligations, best practices, and legal precedents by translating legal changes into practical policies and procedures.
- Act as a primary point of contact for privacy inquiries and complaints from internal teams across Retail and Wholesale businesses.
- Provide timely advice on data privacy queries, individual rights requests, and complex complaints, including appeals and complaints to external dispute resolution bodies and regulatory authorities.
- Conduct risk assessments, such as Privacy Impact Assessments, to challenge personal data processing activities and uphold ING's data retention obligations.
- Undertake periodic privacy risk monitoring to support compliance
- Evaluate data breach incidents, recommend corrective and preventative actions, and ensure compliance with regulatory notification requirements.
- Interpret and enforce ING's internal policies on Data Protection and privacy, as well as binding corporate rules.
- Develop and deploy privacy training materials and other communications to enhance employee awareness
- 3-5 years of professional experience in Data Privacy or related compliance advisory fields, preferably in financial services or other highly regulated sector
- Knowledge of local privacy related laws and regulation including the Privacy Act and, Australian Privacy Principles. Knowledge of the GDPR desireable.
- Privacy-related qualifications or certifications are highly regarded
- Strong advice writing, presentation and verbal communication skills
- Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively across different functions and geographies
- A university degree in Law or equivalent hands on experience
