Applications are invited for an experienced Data Scientist to join The King’s School Knowledge Services team.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the Director of Knowledge Services the role involves leading the ongoing implementation of the Data Strategy in line with the School’s Strategic Plan and ensuring best practice in the whole data pipeline. The role enables data-driven decision-making through the development of interactive dashboards in collaboration with executive staff and a range of stakeholders.
• Cultivate a culture of data literacy across the whole School community
• Refine and implement the School’s Data Strategy
• Ensure best practice in the School’s data systems, from collation, storage and security, to distribution, insights and visualisation
• Develop dynamic dashboards and other analytical deliverables in collaboration with executive staff and other stakeholders

To be successful for this role, you will need to have the following skills, knowledge and attributes:
• Tertiary qualification in Data Science, Computer Science, or another quantitative field (e.g. Mathematics, Statistics)
• Strong proficiency with database extraction processes such as SQL and APIs
• Demonstrated experience with data visualisation software, preferably Power BI
• Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and experience with ETL tools (e.g. Git and Python)
• Proven success in delivering clear, compelling data visualisations, and accompanying insights
• Outstanding communication skills, collaborating with diverse stakeholders in the School’s context to continue developing the School’s analytical maturity
• Strong communication skills, capable of presenting complex data in a succinct and accessible form for technical and non-technical audiences
• A sense of intrinsic motivation, taking ownership of initiatives
• Strong skills in problem solving and innovation
• Analytical mind and business acumen
• Passionate, motivated and keen to add value
