About Your New Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and positive person to join our Strategic Asset and Data Management team that provides a strategic focus to Council’s asset activities, ensuring asset services are centred on the enhancement of a sustainable future and the liveability of the City.
The position will commence in mid-June to perform a range of asset data capture, analysis and continuous improvement activities including: the creation, disposal, updating and improvement of water, sewage, and solid waste asset information within the City’s asset register. In addition, respond to requests for information by querying, interpreting, and analysing spatial and non-spatial information whilst ensuring that data consistently meets the City’s quality standards.
Key Deliverables Of The Position
- Checking, validating and entering as-constructed asset data supplied from internal and external sources into an integrated GIS/SAP asset register
- Analysing and interpreting as-constructed drawings
- Maintaining and improving asset data in accordance with asset data standards
- Providing technical GIS advice and guidance to colleagues
- Diploma in Spatial Sciences and/or equivalent knowledge
- Sound knowledge of the ESRI suite of products or similar GIS applications
- Experience with ArcMAP, ArcPRO and SAP or equivalent programs with the ability to develop proficiencies within Council’s corporate systems.
- Sound knowledge of the Asset Register processes and the asset life cycle
- Drivers Licence Class C Unrestricted
- Demonstrated experience of analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to research issues, interpret and analyse information, determine an appropriate course of action, and provide sound advice, options, or recommendations.
- Demonstrated experience in asset management information system processes for data creation, management, and reporting.
- Well-developed interpersonal, written and communication skills in the areas of consultation, negotiation, and assertiveness with an ability to transfer knowledge to other capable team members.
- Ability to work within an asset information team environment with demonstratable experience in managing multiple tasks, that may have impact beyond the work area, with the ability to plan, organise and prioritise work and resources to reach agreed and successful outcomes.
- Self-motivated individual with the ability to interact with team members to build effective internal relationships.
