Data Specialist (Entry-Level)
What can you expect?
An exciting newly-created opportunity has become available for a graduate or junior Data Specialist to join Marsh's Data Service team. Reporting to the Regional Data Leader, you will be part of a global team and collaborate with Senior Leadership to provide data insights into ongoing regional transformation and transition projects. This role will see you supporting the management of all data across Marsh, identifying potential issues, and contributing to the strategy for data management.

We will count on you to:
Collaborate with various partners across Marsh organisational units in the Pacific region to analyse, identify, and provide insights for key projects (for example: claims management, client management etc.)
Provide data insights for complex business problems that can be approached with analytical techniques to collect, explore, and extract information using tools such as Qlik, Excel or other relevant BI tools.
Identify data quality (DQ) requirements, define DQ metrics and perform ad hoc DQ assessments; automate DQ monitoring with visualisations.
Actively participate in data quality initiatives as well as projects undertaken to improve processes.
Build an understanding of how data flows between operational and analytic platforms.
Support data projects and Data Governance topics.
Contribute to Marsh transformation and operational excellence projects by performing deep data analysis (such as invoicing data, placement related data etc.), working closely with business subject matter experts and data stewards.
Investigate and present results of ad hoc data analysis requests.
What you need to have:
A qualification in IT, Data or a relevant field
1-3 years of experience in data management
Experience in data visualisations, data governance and/or data inventory
Ability to drive conclusions from various data sets and present findings
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
Strong attention to detail and accuracy for both numerical and written work
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
The ability to plan and prioritise workload to meet deadlines
Insurance/Finance industry experience desirable
