Length of role: 6 Months + 2 x 12 Month extensions
Job Responsibilities:
- Implement the test strategy and test plan across all projects/change
- Create, maintain and execute test requirements and scripts
- Assist in the production release and review of all test deliverables
- Ensure test environment requirements are clearly documented and agreed
- Produce metrics to measure testing quality and progress
- Escalate risks, issues and assumptions identified during test planning, design or execution and communicate them to the Test Manager
- Work closely with business to clarify test requirements during test planning, design and execution
- Liaise with Technical and Business Stakeholders to clarify intended system behaviour and supporting business processes
- Work with various testing methodologies including Waterfall and Agile
- Managing defects according to the Defect Management strategy.
- Contribute to and review testing artefacts, including strategies, plans, risk assessments, test specifications and/or status reports
- Develop, document, monitor and improve testing processes and procedures and promote testing best practices
- Work collaboratively to identify, validate and implement business improvement strategies and change initiatives to contribute to the delivery of agency outcomes
- Training and mentoring of staff involved in test design and execution
- Transfer skills and knowledge to departmental staff and ensure appropriate documentation is stored in accordance with the Department’s recordkeeping policy and practices.
- Produce test artefact documentation including Test Scripts, Defect Register, Test Progress Reports, Test Summary Plans and Detailed Test Plans.
To be successful, you will have:
- ISTQB Foundation Certificate, or equivalent
- Over 5 years experience in Data Warehouse Testing
- Proven ability to prepare and maintain test plans, test cases, test results and defect reporting
- Strong SQL skills and ETL knowledge
- Experience using Azure DevOps
- A thorough understanding of testing practices and processes in agile and waterfall project environment
- The ability to work independently, or at the direction of the Test Manager, following testing processes.
- The skill to provide detailed technical, professional, and/or policy advice in relation to complex problems.
- Excellent communication, analytical, problem solving and time management skills.
- Strong analytical, problem solving and negotiation skills.
- The competency to manage responsibilities that may include setting priorities and managing workflows, potentially encompassing management roles.
