Job Summary:
Empire Technologies isseeking a skilled Database Administrator to join our dynamic team. The idealcandidate will have a strong background in database management, performance optimisation,and data security. As a Database Administrator, you will play a crucial role inensuring our clients' databases' reliability, availability, and security.
Key Responsibilities:
· Administer and maintain database systems,ensuring optimal performance and data integrity.
· Installed, configured, and upgraded databasesoftware and related tools.
· Create and manage database users, roles, andpermissions.
· Monitor database performance and tuneconfigurations as necessary.
· Implement backup and recovery strategies tosafeguard data.
· Collaborate with the development team todesign and implement database solutions.
· Troubleshoot and resolve database-relatedissues and incidents.
· Perform regular database maintenance tasks,such as updates and patches.
· Developed and maintained databasearchitecture, processes, and procedures documentation.
· Ensure data security and compliance withrelevant regulations.
· Assist in capacity planning and scalabilityassessments.
· Stay up-to-date with emerging databasetechnologies and best practices.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science,Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
· At least 5 years’ experience as a Database Administrator or in asimilar role.
· Proficiency in database management systems(e.g., SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL).
· Strong SQL programming skills.
· Knowledge of database architecture, design,and performance optimisation.
· Experience with data security and compliance(e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
· Familiarity with database backup and recoveryprocesses.
· Excellent problem-solving and troubleshootingskills.
· Strong communication and collaborationabilities.
· Relevant certifications (e.g., MicrosoftCertified: Azure Database Administrator Associate) are a plus.
