Join The Alpha School System (TASS) as a Database Administrator and play a pivotal role in optimising database and query performance across our innovative product suite. We are seeking a dedicated professional with a high interest in database systems, particularly Microsoft SQL Server, to ensure the highest standards of database performance and integrity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with development teams to optimise SQL queries.
- Monitor and enhance database performance and scalability.
- Implement and maintain database security measures.
- Assist in database maintenance, backup, and recovery.
- Provide technical support and guidance to development teams and technical services.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Database Administrator.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong understanding of Microsoft SQL Server and its performance tuning and monitoring.
- Proficiency in SQL and experience with SQL query optimisation.
- Familiarity with database design, technical and non-technical documentation, and coding.
- Knowledge of database backup, recovery, security, integrity, and SQL.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience with cloud services and database management in a cloud environment.
- Familiarity with other database technologies like MySQL or DB2 databases.
- A background in developing and supporting educational software products.
