Overview of the role
Applications are now open for a Day Team Leader in the Refinery department.
The Day Team Leader provides leadership to the shift team and Day Team members, whilst monitoring the safe production of activities, as well as collecting and analysing plant data in order to assess process problems and recommend a course of action.
The incumbent is responsible for providing input and assisting in the development of the planned maintenance schedule. In addition to this, the Day Team Leader ensures adequate standards of housekeeping, hygiene and dust suppression within the work area.
This is a residential role, based in Port Pirie, South Australia on a Monday to Friday roster. Relocation assistance will be provided to the successful candidate as required.
Key responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:
- Providing direction and support to overcome day-to-day problems that may impact upon safety, environment and production
- Manage production variance processes
- Assist with business improvement activities
- Personnel development, succession planning and operational flexibility
Qualifications, Skills & Experiences:
- High level knowledge of site process, production techniques; principles of personnel management, organisational change, process improvement and communication.
- Knowledge of lean principles and how to apply in a production environment
- Great organisational and time management skills; with the ability to remain calm and focused
- Excellent problem solving and lateral thinking abilities; including verbal skills
- Intermediate to advanced skills in Excel, Word, Outlook and SAP
- Certificate IV in Frontline Management and/or demonstrated leadership experience is advantageous
- Certificate IV in WHS or high level knowledge of safety and safe systems is advantageous
