The Program Design and Delivery practice plays a key role as an 'integrator' because of the work we do. We work across Synergy, in both Defence and Federal Government agencies, in multi-disciplinary teams and collaborate on a variety of initiatives. We have a large and growing team of Portfolio, Program and Project Management (P3M), Change Management and Procurement professionals, which means we have a critical mass and career pathways that allow us to match our people, their skills sets and work preferences to different engagements and client needs. The role and our ideal candidate
To fulfil Synergy's goals and aspirations, the Program Design and Delivery practice has significant plans for growth and success within Defence Capability Programs, particularly in the areas of Portfolio, Program and Project Management (P3M). We are a strategic partner for a 10 year multi billion dollar capital acquisition capability program in Army and this is likely to extend to other similar programs given our reputation for high quality.
If you are a talented individual seeking exciting project opportunities and the ability to apply your experience and knowledge with a career in Project Management, we are building our team of project managers at different levels of career maturity.
We are searching for ex-servicemen and women and transitioning ADF members with any combination of the following:
- Outstanding project management skills including qualifications in or deep knowledge of Prince 2, Agile, MSP or similar P3M methodologies
- Good understanding and experience in the One Defence Capability System/Capability Lifecycle
- Strong Defence Capability Acquisition or Management background
- Strong understanding of linkages between scope, schedule, cost and resources
- Strong governance, risk and assurance, and performance reporting acumen
- Strong Defence logistics support
- Strong planning, coordination and task management skills
- Written or significant involvement in the development of Capability Realisation Management Plans
- Good Product Management skills with at least 10 years delivery experience
- Strong knowledge of Product Governance requirements
- Written or significant involvement in the development of Test & Evaluation Management Plans for Defence Capability
- Highly experienced in the development of Training Needs Analyses and Systems Approach to Defence Learning
- Good linkages to Defence Training establishments
- Strong Defence Technical Support, Capability Acquisition or Management background
- Highly skilled in Information Technology, related procedures and rollout plans
- Good knowledge/strong linkages to CIOG
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and comfortable briefing at executive level
- Strong leadership skills
- Ability to work in a team
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
- Have a high level of integrity
- Be mentally robust and able to deal with pressing deliverables and deadlines
- Be flexible
- Communicate effectively with other team members
- Be self-starting
- Learn quickly
- Are genuinely excited to be working for Defence Capability Management organisations
- Ability and desire to work in Defence on long term major capital acquisition projects
- Desire to obtain and apply Prince2 and Agile certifications
- Ability to use Microsoft Project and other systems required for managing, scheduling and progress tracking.
- Minimum Baseline security clearance with ability to obtain NV1 clearance is required.
