About the opportunity
The Delivery Manager role is responsible for continuous delivery performance and culture of one of our Scaled Agile, Long Running Teams. The Delivery Manager role sits with a well-established team with ownership for a mixed portfolio of Digital products and services.
What you’ll deliver with us
As the Delivery Manager, you will be responsible for facilitating agile release processes and program execution, escalating impediments, managing risks, managing a mix of BAU and Investment budgets and helping to drive continuous improvement. You will also be responsible for facilitating program events such as Planning Meetings, Release Management Meetings, Inspect & Adapt Workshops, and the Scrum of Scrums where required.
You’ll also
- Manage an agile delivery process across the digital engineering group.
- Implement and facilitate a quarterly release management planning process across the digital engineering group.
- Facilitate release planning readiness; Vision, Backlogs and facilities, and all events attributed to release planning.
- Assist with program execution and feature completion tracking with a particular focus on collection of program and delivery metrics.
- Work with Product Management, Product Owners, and Business Owners to help assure strategy and execution alignment.
- Provide input on the resourcing of additional team members to address critical bottlenecks.
- Drive program-level continuous improvement via Inspect and Adapt workshops and constant demonstration of a process improvement mindset.
- Participate in enterprise program management improvement and standardization activities.
- The role will also be required to provide line management, mentoring and coaching to Iteration Managers.
About you
We are looking for a passionate professional in the agile delivery space, with corporate and large project delivery management experience. A proactive promoter of agile best practices and a quality mindset with excellent communication, analytical and facilitation skills.
To be successful you will have
- Financial management experience
- The ability to pivot between projects contexts.
- Leadership skills
- 5+ years’ experience of scaled agile in the enterprise, e.g. large agile transformations and frameworks gained from practical experience.
- Experience delivering projects using Agile techniques online and mobile products and services.
- Proven success in working with and across Business and IT Delivery Teams to deliver effective and cost-efficient technology-based solutions.
- 10+ years of working in agile delivery roles
- Experience working within a customer-focused team in Digital or Online Services.
- Strong delivery background
- Extensive experience as an Agile Project Manager, Iteration Manager or Agile Coach across multiple domains.
- In depth knowledge of one or more Agile frameworks as acquired through practical experience.
- Experience delivering projects using Agile techniques online and mobile products and services.
- Experience of releasing software to production, implementing processes and management
- People leadership; experience in recruitment of staff and line managing delivery team members.
- Excellent communication, analytical and facilitation skills.
- Proactive promoter of agile best practices and a quality mindset.
- Proven success in working with and across Business and IT Delivery Teams to deliver effective and cost efficient technology based solutions.
- In-depth knowledge of Agile: Scrum/XP software delivery methodologies.
- Tertiary qualification in IT/computer Science or business related discipline.
- Agile certification is desirable.
