Job description

Our specialist practice in Coorparoo (Brisbane) is searching for an experienced Dental Assistant, or current Clinical Team Leader. We aim to provide exceptional care in a fun and down to earth, professional, yet practical environment. The patients we welcome range from new-born to late teens as well as adult patients with special needs and the care we provide includes early childhood caries, developmental anomalies, special needs, anxiety concerns, emergency trauma, complex medical histories, and pediatric oral surgery.

Applicants for this role must have experience in Team Leadership and be professional, passionate, and caring, about both their job and the patients we treat. You hold a Certificate III or IV in Dental Assisting, be self-motivated, have recent clinical experience and be up to date with infection control standards. 

Applicants for this role must be able to:

🦷 Support and lead a small, close knit Clinical Team of 5-6 Dental Assistants and 1 Oral Health Therapist.

🦷 Train and support junior dental assistants.

🦷 Ability to delegate effectively.

🦷 Enjoy working as a part of a team.

🦷 Contributes to our work environment positively.

🦷 Ordering/ stock control across multiple suppliers.

🦷 Remain up to date with our equipment and maintenance schedule. Ensure services are booked accurately and address any repairs immediately.

🦷 Maintain clinical compliance, including infection control standards, safety regulations etc.

🦷 Assist in the recruitment, onboarding, and performance evaluation of clinical staff.

🦷 Maintain accurate patient records and ensure confidentiality of patient information.

🦷 Maintain open communication with clinicians and address any clinically relevant concerns.

🦷 Oversee general cleanliness of the practice. 

Applicants must have the availability to work shifts between Monday to Friday, this is starting as a casual position with hours ranging from 20-38 per week. However, open discussion can be had to increase hours and contract to Full-time in the future.

Requirements

🦷 Certificate III or IV in Dental Assisting completed.

🦷 Hold a current Blue Card or be eligible to obtain a Paid Blue Card.

🦷 Must be ability to successfully complete a criminal history/police check.

🦷 Be able to provide up to date vaccinations and willing to obtain any necessary vaccinations required when working with children.

🦷 Current First Aid and CPR or willingness to obtain before commencing employment.

🦷 Flexible availability to work within our practice needs (Monday - Friday, between hours of 8AM to 5:30PM).

🦷 Knowledge of infection control standards.

🦷 Ability to work as a part of a multidisciplinary team to ensure a high standard of care is delivered to all patients.

🦷 Must be willing to learn all duties associated with the role including light reception duties, sterilisation and chair side assisting in both the clinic and hospital.
