What you'll be doing

The position is responsible for the effective operation of the Pharmacy service across CCN including operationalising the strategic plans developed in collaboration with the Director of Pharmacy.
The position will have a direct operational role including the day-to-day management of staff and efficient running of the Pharmacy Department across CCN.
The position will be required to act as the Director of Pharmacy in the Director’s absences.

All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course (2 doses) of a Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA) approved or recognised COVID-19 vaccine (except for the Janssen COVID-19 vaccine, which is approved by the TGA as a single dose primary course).  

New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health or provide an Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) immunisation history statement certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW. A NSW Health agency may require further information about the medical contraindication (including but not limited to an Immunisation Medical Exemption form – IM011 form).

Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.

Salary will be accordance with NSW Health State Awards for the advertised classification/s.  These awards are available at http://www.health.nsw.gov.au/careers/conditions/pages/default.aspx.

AN ELIGIBILITY LIST FROM THIS RECRUITMENT ACTIVITY MAY BE CREATED FOR FUTURE VACANCIES

  1. Registered as a practicing pharmacist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  2. Extensive experience in hospital pharmacy practice including experience in the management of an advanced clinical pharmacy service within a large rural hospital in accordance with the National Safety and Quality Health Standards.
  3. 3. Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the demonstrated ability to coordinate and develop written guidelines and procedures, educational, research and business materials and to navigate the operationalisation of the documents.
  4. Demonstrated highly effective interpersonal skills including the ability to create opportunity, adapt communication styles and techniques to operationalise strategic objectives whilst ensuring a positive workplace culture.
  5. Demonstrated ability to effectively role model, champion and promote teamwork, manage and develop staff, build cooperation and overcome barriers to teamwork, communication and collaboration.
  6. Demonstrated skills and experience in service planning, including identification, implementation and evaluation of initiatives to ensure continual quality improvement and the attainment of operational KPIs within negotiated timeframes.
  7. Demonstrated commitment to professional development, including attainment of post-graduate qualifications in management or equivalent skills/experience.
  8. Ability to participate in a flexible roster pattern including work on weekends, afterhours and public holidays as required.
