About the role
HPS Pharmacies – Darlinghurst is seeking a suitably qualified Full-Time Deputy Director of Pharmacy with a strong commercial and business focus and proven leadership and management skills.

Critical to the success of this role is a demonstrated track record in working with and achieving key performance indicators and financial outcomes, ideally developed within a retail, commercial or hospital pharmacy environment.

Reporting to the Director of Pharmacy, the Deputy Director of Pharmacy will assist in leading the team at HPS Pharmacies – Darlinghurst to provide patient-centred care and provide contemporary, consistent and cost effective hospital pharmacy services across all areas of Pharmacy, including clinical, oncology, retail and dispensary.

The Deputy Director of Pharmacy is accountable for:

• Ensuring profitable site operations, in accordance with contractual and legislative requirements and HPS’ strategic objectives and KPIs
• Lead, develop, motivate and mentor a team of Pharmacists and Technicians to deliver consistent high quality services
• Grow the business and improve the financial performance of the site through achievement of budgets and other targets
• Maintain and develop client relationships
• Undertake critical business analysis to identify trends and opportunities and resolve issues for the site
• Dispense and supply medications in line with legal and professional requirements, patient counselling etc
• Other duties as required of a pharmacist 

You will possess the following attributes:

• Strong business acumen and commercial focus
• Excellent communication and client management skills
• Extensive pharmacy management experience in a retail or commercial environment
• Proven experience in effectively leading, motivating and developing a team to achieve results
• Analytical thinking, judgment and the ability to develop appropriate solutions
• Current AHPRA registration with a minimum of 2 years’ hospital experience
• Membership with an indemnity insurance provider
• Hospital pharmacy management experience desirable
• Working knowledge of iPharmacy desirable
