As the Deputy Head of Communications and Public Education, you will inspire, guide and enable a team of people to define and deliver on the RBA strategy as it relates to the Bank’s Public Education and communications objectives. You will also lead and develop the Communications Department staff to achieve RBA goals and deliver organisational outcomes.
Your role will strategically direct the delivery of the Bank’s economics education program, represent the Bank at relevant academic forums and oversee an evidence-based approach to program evaluation and the development of policy proposals.
Over above these strategic priorities, you will support the Head of Department in advising the Bank and its Governor on effective and strategic communication relating to policy matters, and deliver on this advice. You will also support the Head of Department in managing the department.
Your team
Reporting to the Chief Communications Officer, you will lead the Public Education and Communications teams comprising approximately 40 members. Your role will enable you to help shape a new department and establish mechanisms to enhance the collaboration between these two teams.
Your background
Your strong stakeholder management and communication skills, resilience, and personable nature will help set you up for success in this key role. To be successful in this role, you will possess:
Extensive experience in macroeconomics.
Previous Economists will be highly regarded.
Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic plans.
Strong communication skills and an ability to collaborate with internal stakeholders to design, produce and gain approval for content.
Experience using analysis, research insights and feedback from users to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.
Demonstrated ability to develop policies, systems and processes, including the provision of advice and recommendations for change.
Your qualifications
Relevant tertiary qualifications in economics or a related discipline, preferably at postgraduate level, or equivalent experience.
