The School offers innovative short courses and microcredential programs in response to industry needs and upskilling of current registered nurses. The postgraduate midwifery programs are industry-recognised with a unique clinical partnership model with industry partners. ABOUT THE ROLEThe
Deputy Head of the National School of Nursing and Midwifery (DHoS) will provide high level leadership and management of the School and will report to the National
Head of School, Nursing and Midwifery, Faculty of Medicine, Nursing, Midwifery, and Health Sciences. This appointment will be at an Associate Professor (level D) or Professor (level E) level.Working closely with the
Head of the School, the DHoS will share the responsibility for overseeing the suite of undergraduate and postgraduate programs across the national School structure, ensuring effective governance and risk-management. You will be responsible for high level budget management and change management skills and demonstrate capacity to maintain a high-performance culture. In addition, the DHoS will implement the School’s contribution to the University’s Strategic Plan, facilitate growth, advance research and research output, advance the national and international reputation of the school, and collaborate with other schools within the faculty to advance the health portfolio of the University collectively.
Key Responsibilities- Leadership and management of the school, working closely with the Head of the school
- Effective collaboration with the Head of School and discipline leads for the Undergraduate and Post Graduate programs
- Facilitate efficient operations of the school across the national structure
- Facilitate growth and contribute to the delivery of the University’s strategic plan and Faculty Operating Plan
- Advance nursing and midwifery research
ABOUT YOU- RN or RN/RM and hold current AHPRA registration.
- Demonstrated expertise and understanding of the nursing and midwifery programs at Undergraduate and Post Graduate levels.
- Undertake Undergraduate/Post Graduate teaching.
- Clinical practice, and research activities are strongly encouraged.
- Leadership experience in the Higher Education sector.
- A doctoral qualification or equivalent academic standing is highly desirable.
