The Deputy Principal of Teaching and Learning at St Mary's College Broome plays a key leadership role in the Secondary campus and K-12 College journey, sharing authority and responsibility with the Principal in the overall leadership and management of the college and specifically secondary campus. This position is responsible for supporting teachers in the classroom, ensuring the engagement of all students in the learning process, and catering to their diverse learning needs through future-focused pedagogy. The Deputy Principal is also responsible for the development, implementation, and oversight of the school's curriculum and associated policies.

Essential Criteria:

• Be an outstanding educator with a vision for leading staff in achieving better outcomes for students.
• Have a strong understanding of timetable construction and efficient use of College resources
• Have a strong understanding of students pathways, including University preparation, ATAR and VET.
• Be willing to become an active member of the College community with a strong commitment to promoting and supporting the varied aspects of College life.
• Have well developed written and oral communication skills, along with a high level of interpersonal skills, and capacity to build and develop team.
• Maintain a high standard of confidentiality and professionalism
Highly Desirable Criteria:
• Have a strong understanding of latest educational research and thinking.
• Have a proven capacity to build a positive culture around contemporary learning pedagogy.
• Have a proven capacity to utilise technology and innovation to redefine the development and delivery of quality learning experiences for students
• Have a proven ability to work in a collaborative environment as a member of an Executive team.
• Have an excellent understanding and commitment to the specific learning needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.
• Be able to demonstrate a high level of competence in utilizing interpersonal skills.
• Be able to assist with the development of community amongst staff, students and parents.
• Relevant experience in similar position and/or Catholic Education.
Qualifications Required
• Relevant 4 Year Tertiary Qualifications
• Current registration with Teachers Registration Board WA
• Current Working with Children Check WA.
• Have completed, or be close to completing, all of the requirements for Accreditation to Lead in a Catholic School
• Have a minimum of seven years relevant educational experience.
