This position will work collaboratively with the Principal - Primary under the leadership of the Executive Principal. We are seeking a leader who can lead and develop a team to provide a learning environment that encourages students to give their best, embrace challenge, and grow to reach their full potential.

About the Role
This position will provide strategic and operational capability in line with the Varsity College Continuous Improvement Model (VCIM). A fundamental element of this role is to work collaboratively with Secondary Campus staff to develop and implement a clearly articulated strategy towards aligning primary to secondary transition. Further, the role requires the successful applicant to demonstrate an ability to work alongside staff and students in support of student wellbeing and engagement.
In your role as Acting Deputy Principal you will:
- Develop, lead and implement a clearly articulated strategy that assists students and families to successfully transition through primary years of schooling.
- Support the Executive Principal and Principal in the execution of College vision and improvement strategy.
- Proactively communicate with community and key stakeholders in the support of student engagement and wellbeing, inclusive of students, parents, external agency and staff.
- Model an exemplary commitment to teaching and learning in and out of the classroom environment.
- Practice responsible governance of key strategic portfolios and associated resourcing responsibilities.
- Implement and action Departmental directive and policy in an ethical, socially just manner.
- Foster a collegial environment that is supportive of teacher need and focused on student outcomes.
- Develop a professional learning environment that supports coaching, peer observation and collegial engagement.
