Job description

The Crime and Corruption Commission (CCC) is a statutory body set up to combat and reduce the incidence of major crime and corruption in the public sector in Queensland. Its functions and powers are set out in the Crime and Corruption Act 2001.

About you 

The ideal applicant will demonstrate capability in the following requirements: 

  • Exhibits understanding of the Commission's role with respect to Queensland public sector and working knowledge of, or the ability to rapidly acquire a working knowledge of, the Crime and Corruption Act 2001, the Public Interest Disclosure Act 2010, the Criminal Code (Old) and other relevant legislation and the Commission's policies and procedures.
  • Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills, demonstrated by experience in reviewing, analysing and reporting on complex issues, making high quality decisions and judgements and providing expert advice in a high pressure work environment.
  • Highly developed, audience focused, interpersonal and oral communication skills including the ability to liaise, consult and negotiate effectively both within the Commission and with officers of other public sector agencies, to interview complainants in relation to the most complex and sensitive issues, and to participate in education programs, liaison activities and regional visits.
  • Highly developed written communication skills including the ability to prepare clear and detailed reports and correspondence in relation to the most complex complaints and sensitive operational issues, and deliver clear and concise briefings to senior executives.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage high volumes of work and deliver products within strict timeframes and demonstrated resilience in managing conflict.
  • Demonstrated professionalism, personal drive, self-awareness and a commitment to personal development, adherence to organisational values and the code of conduct and displays resilience by focusing on achieving objectives in sometimes difficult circumstances.
  • Demonstrated skills in leading and managing staff, including providing guidance, support, direction, training, professional development and performance feedback.

Possession of tertiary qualifications relevant to the position is highly desirable.  Qualifications acquired from an overseas educational institution will only be accepted where the qualification has been recognised to an equivalent level in accordance with the Australian Qualifications Framework ( https://www.aqf.edu.au/ ).
