BAR Studio
International, collaborative and culturally engaged, BAR Studio specialises in the design of hotels and resorts throughout the world. Since 2003 we have established a portfolio of refined and sensitively realised projects. We structure our studio so that key senior members are across all projects, ensuring each project is prioritised company-wide, and our directors and key staff are integrally involved in all aspects of design and delivery.
The Role
As Design Director, you shape project design, ensuring alignment with the initial vision. Working closely with the Creative Director, you guide conceptual development and provide direction to achieve quality outcomes. Throughout the project, you maintain the design concept's integrity and ensure BAR Studio's intent is realized. Collaborating with the Project Director, you oversee project delivery in line with BAR's standards. Externally, you represent BAR Studio to clients, operators, and stakeholders, building relationships in line with business development strategies.
To be successful in this role you will:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field (ie. Interior Design, Architecture, Interior Architecture etc)10+ years of proven experience in a design leadership role in large scale hospitality projects. Strong leadership and communication skills. Strong technical, operational and planning knowledge. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Experience working with cross-functional teams. Knowledge of project management methodologies and tools
