Due to our company’s growth, we have a unique opportunity for a Design Drafter to join our team. This role will be based in our Adelaide Mawson Lakes office, and is a full-time, permanent role. Projects are in the Food & Beverage sector with most of our projects servicing the wine industry.
POSITION SUMMARYProvide accurate and efficient design and drawing services to customers.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Work collaboratively with engineers to produce accurate drawings that satisfy customer requirements
- Produce drawings and modelling using computer aided drafting systems (CAD) or 3D Modelling software.
- Review sketches, drawings, specifications, and other engineering data received from engineers to ensure that they conform to design concepts.
- Draft plans and detailed drawings for structural, and civil construction projects.
- Draw plans, sections and details.
- Liaise with engineers and provide spatial analysis and advice on dimensions and practicality of construction of engineers’ design.
- Determine the order of work and method of presentation, including site layout, detailed design and sections.
- Report changes that may influence the delivery time.
- Finish and duplicate drawings and documentation packages, according to required mediums and specifications.
- Experience in the wine industry is highly preferred but not essential.
- Computer literacy for operation of relevant CAD packages and other software related to completion of work. Packages regularly used within the company include AutoCAD, Revit, Inventor, Plant 3D and Civil 3D/12D.
- High level of knowledge in drafting standards.
- Appreciation of science, mathematics and engineering technology
- A Diploma or higher qualification in either structural, civil or mechanical
- Extensive technical knowledge in their field
- Good interpersonal skills
- Ability to work as a member of a team, working with engineers while also being proactive and be able to identify when they need to request information
- Able handle the delivery of projects autonomously, including working with, and supervising, paraprofessionals
- Have the right attributes to meet and work with clients, other consultants and other disciplines of engineering, to ensure the successful delivery of projects while enhancing MLEI’s reputation
- Accuracy, neatness, structure and patience in drawing work
- Mature and professional attitude.
- Able to work as team with minimum supervision
- Have motivational, listening, and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication skills.
The Linney Engineering Services office is situated in a well-appointed suite in Innovation House at Technology Park in Mawson Lakes. This allows easy access to Barossa where the majority of our work in wineries is undertaken.
