About the Role
Seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team based in Brisbane. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, this role plays a key part in providing professional engineering design and project management services including:
- Provide technical engineering services in support of Downer's internal & external clients
- Production of mechanical / structural designs and drawings to allow manufacture, installation and commissioning
- Provide project management services in support of projects
- Semi regular site attendance for client meetings, job inspections and technical support of site project and maintenance activities
About You
- Have and maintain current RPEQ status
- 6-7 years minimum experience in heavy engineering ideally with exposure and experience in the power generation / process industries
- Ability to produce mechanical / structural designs, drawings and specifications to allow successful manufacturing and installation in conformance with the requirements of the customer and relevant standards and codes
- Drafting skills (Autodesk Inventor and AutoCad desirable)
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Working knowledge of relevant Australian Standards
- Provide supervision and mentoring to other staff members
- Zero harm to our people, clients and assets in Sector
- Working knowledge of business bids, estimating and proposal procedures
