About Us: Our Client is a leading company in the automation equipment industry, dedicated to delivering high-quality solutions to our clients. We are currently seeking a talented and experienced Design Manager to join our team and lead our design department to success.

Position: Design Manager

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and lead the design team to ensure projects are produced on time and to a high specification.
• Provide leadership, guidance, and support to the design team for on-time delivery of projects.
• Manage project budgets and costs effectively.
• Provide clear and accurate design drawings to meet time, quality, and cost goals.
• Offer parts interpretation and design support to internal stakeholders.
• Lead new product development and design initiatives.
• Maintain design guidelines for quality purposes.
• Ensure governance and quality management of all design drawings.
• Collaborate with the Operations team to meet organizational objectives.
• Communicate with managers and departments across the organization.
• Build productive working relationships internally and externally.
• Provide support services to designers and operational managers.
• Plan, schedule, direct, and review the work of the design team.
• Lead by example, displaying exemplary leadership and work ethic.
• Identify and manage industry "best in class" services.
• Ensure designs meet customer specifications and schedules.

Job Dimensions:

• Reporting to the General Manager.
• Supervising the design team.
• Close collaboration with the wider company design team.
• Providing expert technical design advice and support to internal and external customers.

Specifications:

• Strong mechanical design skills and knowledge.
• Engineering/trade/drafting background with extensive experience in special purpose machinery design.
• Experience with structural, pneumatic, and electronic aspects of packaging equipment.
• Ability to effectively manage people and resources to meet objectives.
• Strong leadership skills to drive team performance.
• High level of accuracy, attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to work under tight deadlines and handle high-pressure situations.
• Sound decision-making and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD 2017+, and Office 365 Apps (Word, Excel, Outlook).
