About the opportunity
The Educational Innovations Team at the University of Sydney drives groundbreaking educational initiatives, enhancing teaching and learning through cutting-edge technology and innovative practices.
They are looking for an Educational Design Manager (EDM) to provide expert oversight for Educational Design and provide teaching and curriculum support to the Portfolio and Faculties within the University of Sydney.
In this role, you will create, develop, test and implement educational resources and approaches to ensure the work area's core teaching and curriculum support needs are effectively met for a broad range of coursework-based programs of study.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Learning Design, your key responsibilities will be to:
- manage Educational Innovation initiatives to support undergraduate and postgraduate programs
- provide pedagogical and digital education expertise to work areas within the University
- create and develop innovative educational approaches and resources to enhance the student learning experience
- provide effective leadership, management guidance and support to the staff in the work area
- support the Academic and Teaching staff on the effective use of educational and multimedia technologies across various programs of study to meet teaching and curriculum needs.
About you
Are you passionate about Educational Design and ready to make a difference in teaching at the University of Sydney? We are looking for someone who has:
- experience delivering digital education programs in a tertiary environment
- tertiary qualification in education or equivalent relevant experience and training
- effective communication, problem-solving skills, and sound judgment
- ability to work independently and as part of a team
- experience supervising, training, mentoring, and managing staff performance
- knowledge of Canvas or equivalent LMS and tertiary education processes
- strong stakeholder relationship-building and negotiation skills
- Fellowship of AdvanceHE or working towards is desirable.

Australian Temporary Residents currently employed at the University of Sydney may be considered for a fixed term contract for the length of their visa, depending on the requirements of the hiring area and the reasons for the position.
