We are inviting applications and expressions of interest from senior-level Design Managers with extensive leadership experience across Civil / Water & Wastewater major projects to be part of our industry recognized Australian Water team.
As a Design Manager, you will provide commercial and technical leadership to our teams across our regions and nationally, ensuring delivery of GHD’s major water infrastructure projects to our clients.
Working with a flexible, friendly and high-performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:
- Leading design teams in producing designs, documents and reports for water infrastructure projects supporting our local communities including pipelines, sewers, storages, pump stations, Water and Wastewater treatment plants
- Partnering with Project Managers on all major project functions, with a primary focus on managing the technical project teams.
- Responsibility for the detailed planning and design to achieve the desired final result and client requirements
- Oversee the engineering schedule in collaboration with the Project Manager and design discipline leads.
- Contribute to the coaching and mentoring of our junior water engineers
- Continue to build on GHD’s local and national water project capability through the continued development of all staff and external recruitment when required.
- Further build your technical leadership profile in regional and national water infrastructure major projects and programs.
What you will bring to the team
- Appropriate Civil Engineering degree and qualifications
- Minimum of 15+ years of technical project design and water industry consulting experience
- Proven expertise in managing the design delivery across complex teams for large, multi-discipline water projects
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- The ability to deal with uncertainty, changing and multiple priorities.
- Strong leadership, team building and mentoring skills.
