Designer /Engineer

We are a Recreational Vehicle manufacturing company based in the Northern suburbs. We have an opportunity for an experienced Designer /Engineer with strong SolidWorks particularly Sheetmetal and Production Planning to join our team.

The position involves:-

• Creating and setting up of new designs (internals, externals and renderings)  using SolidWorks
• Editing and modifying drawing plans using SolidWorks
• Must have experience in Weldments, Sheetmetal, PDM 
• Must be able to calculate MASS, use BOM 
• Reverse engineer solutions from previous geometry and models
• Create detailed bills of materials (BOMs) for manufactured components.
• Maintain accurate MRP and ERP systems
• Maintain a good filing system
• Preparing CNC cutting data for furniture including nesting 
• Preparing Laser Cutting drawings
• Research and development of new technology which can potentially improve the production and quality of product
• Develop project plans to prioritise work and manage workflows.
• Organising the scheduling for on time delivery to customers
• Production planning and ordering.

Skills and attributes required:-

• Solidworks experience (3D Software) - full designs
• High attention to detail
• Being familiar with Australian Design Rules 
• High level of problem solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Self-motivated and able to monitor personal workload
• Must have experience with excel and google sheets
• Flexible in making changes to meet customer requirements.
• Basic knowledge of production and manufacturing processes
• Ability to work efficiently, productively and meet deadlines.
• Strong work ethic and reliable attitude
• Embrace challenge and be able to resolve in a collaborative way.
• Be passionate and innovative approach to design.
• Have an interest in recreational vehicles and camping preferred.
• An independent SolidWorks test will be required.
