We are excited to announce a new position coming to Plan B Services. The Electrical Engineer – Earthing & Design will be required to undertake all Electrical Earthing Studies & Designs, Technical Support, Training, and Reporting on behalf of Plan B Services to our Clients and Development Sites. This role will involve both field and office-based responsibilities.

- Design and preparation of specifications for the installation of underground electrical distribution systems, with a focus towards electrical earthing requirements.
- Necessary site visits, inspections, and testing to verify and validate earthing design requirements, against the provided data.
- Preparation of detailed reports and studies for review and acceptance by project stakeholders, clients, and the distribution authority.
- Liaison with all project stakeholders to complete both onsite and office duties, in accordance with design and project delivery needs.
- Efficient and effective delivery of approved and compliant electrical and earthing designs or reports, meeting project timelines and project stakeholder needs.
- Support and mentoring of team members across the entire Plan B Group.
- Preparation of relevant quotations and proposals.
- Representing the Plan B Group at appropriate sites, meetings, and events.
To be successful in this role, you will:
- Maintain a high standard and thorough knowledge of Victorian Electrical Distribution and Australian standards including (but not limited too):
- AS/NZ3000 Wiring Rules
- AS/NZ2067 Substations and High Voltage Installations Exceeding 1 kVA
- AS/NZ3835 – Earth Potential Rise – Protection of Telecommunication Network Users, Personnel and Plant
- AS/NZ4853 – Electrical Hazards on Metallic Pipelines
- AS/NZ60479.1 – Effects of Currents on Human Beings and Livestock
- Victorian electrical distribution design and construction technical standards and processes – particularly those focused around earthing and bonding.
- Required design, delivery, tie-in, and earthing checklists and expectations.
- Ability to create, follow, and implement processes.
- Individual Design Quality & Controls across all project types, particularly earthing.
- Understanding of the required AS/NZ & Victorian Electrical Distribution Standards relating to electrical earthing, electrical design, and delivery processes.
- Ability to grow and nurture Clients and Project Stakeholder Relationships.
- A high degree of proactive and effective communication.

Training & Development
Relevant earthing and/or distribution design experience will be treated favourably. Entry level candidates will be provided relevant training, support and development opportunities.
