About the role
As Development Compliance Manager you will be responsible for leading the Development Compliance Team focussing on Development Compliance activities to ensure that development within the city meets the requirements of the Planning Scheme and associated legislation. You will undertake reactive and proactive Development Compliance activities supporting management in the areas of Development Compliance.
Some of your key responsibilities will include:
- Coordinate work within the team to meet reporting and compliance action deadlines
- Ensure that customer service request management, including illegal development and noncompliance with development approvals, is undertaken by the team
- Consult and negotiate on matters of a development and/or compliance nature with developers, consultants and members of the general public
- Provide expert advice to other areas of council’s operations
- Appear, as necessary, in Tribunals or Courts on council’s behalf as an expert witness and participate in without prejudice meetings and alternative dispute resolution discussions in relation to Development Compliance activities
About you
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Possess a bachelors or postgraduate degree or diploma in Town Planning or a related field from a recognised university or other tertiary education institution
- Be eligible for membership of the relevant professional body (i.e Planning Institute of Australia or equivalent)

This is a permanent, full time position at Level 8 with a salary between $121,294 and $136,864 plus superannuation of up to 12.5%.
