About the Role
The primary purpose of the role is to provide civil engineering services to support the delivery of Council’s Capital Works Program and provide advice/assistance to the Local Traffic Committee.
Duties
- Offer comprehensive Development Engineering related services and planning advice for development applications (e.g. water, sewer, stormwater, roads etc.)
- Perform design tasks and advise the council on cost effective solutions
- Ensure a high standard of Development Engineering services
- Manage Capital Works within the allocated stormwater budget
- Report on matters of Traffic Safety
- Promote delivery of infrastructure and assist with interpretation of engineering standards
- Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification
- Minimum five (5) years relevant work experience in Civil Engineering/Civil Construction within Local Government or similar
- Demonstrated ability to communicate and interact at all levels on technical advice and policy issues
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety responsibilities
- Current Class C Driver Licence
- Construction White Card
- 140 hours over 19 days – 1 RDO every four weeks
