Our client is a dynamic and rapidly evolving boutique real estate development entity backed by HNW private equity interests. They have been committed to innovation and excellence over 20+ years as they successfully deliver on their charter to acquire, develop and trade out of regional and sub regional retail, child care, commercial & logistics assets.
They are looking to appoint a talented and motivated Development Manager to join their team. You will report directly to the CEO and be responsible for driving existing and new projects through to successful completion. You will ensure progression of projects from inception through to asset stabilisation across all facets of the project lifecycle, while leading a small, highly skilled team of motivated property professionals.
Responsibilities:
- Early stage project feasibilities and site identification;
- Establishing and maintaining a projects financial viability and ensuring commercial returns to investors;
- Managing and driving project staff across analytics and development management functions;
- Asset Management responsibility for balance sheet assets including an established regional retail shopping centre, Sydney CBD tenancies as well as 2 well located Sydney ‘last mile’ infill logistics facilities;
- Appointing and managing consultants through design, development and construction;
- Working with major tenant pre-commitment lease requirements;
- Full financial management of projects from feasibility through to project cost management;
- Driving council and approvals processes;
- Assisting with the disposal of assets once stabilised;
- Sourcing and assisting with new acquisitions;
Your experience & qualifications:
- Minimum Bachelor's degree in Property, Business, Construction, or related field.
- Proven experience in commercial, retail or logistics development, site selection and lease negotiation.
- Strong project management skills with a track record of successful commercial outcomes;
- Team leadership capability.
- Excellent qualitative and quantitative skills.
- Excellent demonstrable communication and negotiation skills.
- Familiarity with the private equity or HNW family office environment a bonus.
