About the Role:

The Development Manager position is based in Manjimup, southeast of Bunbury, and has the primary responsibility of leading and overseeing the development, implementation, management and refurbishment of existing infrastructure, and new infrastructure developments. These infrastructure developments range from scoping and refurbishment of on-site accommodation, establishing site offices, amenities and shedding, through to managing the development and implementation of structural netting projects across the Southern WA portfolio of Redland farms. 

This role is based on site in Manjimup WA and works closely with the site General Manager (GM).

Primary responsibilities:

  • Support the GM with managing and overseeing new infrastructure developments.
  • Manage project financials, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting, to maximize profitability and return on investment. 
  • Liaising with GM and external contractors, council and farm managers to meet project and construction timeframes and ensure permits/ regulations are met on all projects.
  • Develop and maintain strong compliant relationships with stakeholders, including investors, consultants, contractors, and government bodies.
  • Coordinate and oversee the work of project teams and contractors, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and legal requirements.
  • Identifying risks and hazards and bringing them to the attention of the farm management team and the GM.
  • Support the farm management team with ongoing development programs.

Skills, Attributes and experience

  • A minimum of 5 years proven experience in a similar role.
  • Project management experience in construction/ development/ mining and or heavy industries desirable
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Project Management, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Australian, and specifically Western Australian, safety legislation and relevant regulations, rules, standards, codes and principles.
  • Commercially astute. Strong values-based character with the ability to understand company needs, set clear direction and priorities for others whilst maintaining diplomatic relationship skills.
  • Self-aware and ability to positively engage and influence others to gain commitment and support.
  • Show initiative and the ability to work autonomously, take responsibility for outcomes and is results orientated.
