The Opportunity
Reporting to the Group Leader of Planning Services, an exciting opportunity exists for a Development Planner within our Planning Services Team, we are interested in hearing from all candidates, from a recent graduate looking for an opportunity to an experienced Development Planner looking for a challenge or a sea change.
The primary purpose of this role is to undertake the efficient and effective assessment of a range of development applications as well as provide accurate Duty Planning advice in accordance with the relevant NSW planning legislation and our local controls.
About You
The ideal candidate will possess (tertiary) qualifications in Planning or related discipline. The position will suit self-motivated planner who can effectively manage and assess a wide range of development applications in a timely manner, with excellent communication skills and the ability to work cooperatively within a team environment.
Essential requirements
- Tertiary qualifications in Planning or related discipline.
- Eligibility for membership of the Planning Institute of Australia.
- Experience in Development Assessment.
- High level, professional written and verbal communication skills.
- Thorough understanding of and ability to apply customer service techniques.
- Demonstrated ability to work co-operatively with other Divisions of Council
- Demonstrated ability to prioritise projects and manage multiple projects and work under pressure to meet deadlines
- Demonstrated skills and ability to work effectively within a collaborative team.
- A current driver’s licence.
