Job description

The role:

Menzies is looking for a Development Support Officer to support the Development Team in raising funds and seeking philanthropic and corporate investment in Menzies School of Health Research.

The Development Support Officer will support the preparation and submission of tailored proposals and associated materials to secure philanthropic funding for Menzies. They will work closely with all members of the Development Team and researchers to develop applications and proposals for new funding opportunities, enhance existing funding avenues and build strong synergies within all areas of Menzies.

Some of the key duties involve: -

  • Manage donor administration processes including donation reconciliation and donor acknowledgment.
  • Identify external funding opportunities relevant to the Development Team.
  • Develop a calendar of annual philanthropic submission deadlines and work in collaboration with relevant staff to prepare, develop and submit high quality corporate and philanthropic funding applications.
  • In collaboration with the Research Office, manage the submission, tracking and other necessary functions for philanthropic grants.
  • Manage general enquiries regarding donation, gifts and general fundraising activities.

About you:

As a motivated individual, you will already bring your highly developed stakeholder engagement abilities and strong communication skills that will be effective to a range of audiences including people from diverse professional and cultural backgrounds.

You also have:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification with proven high-level experience in a similar role or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education in business development or grant administration.
  • Demonstrated previous experience in a high-level administration role.
  • Demonstrated experience in preparing high quality submissions, proposals and applications for funding.
  • Evident understanding of data governance principles, including those relating to data ownership, privacy, storage and transfer.
  • High level of initiative, sound judgment, prioritisation of work, working under pressure with excellent attention to detail, and the ability to complete tasks to deadline.

The Benefits:

  • Attractive salary package $120,959 to $130,232 including super and salary packaging benefits (base salary $96,260 to $104,463)
  • Option to increase employer superannuation contribution to 14%
  • Significant salary packaging benefits up to $15,900 per annum
  • 6 weeks annual leave
