TPS Energy Australia is seeking a full-time knowledgeable procurement and Assistant Accountant candidate for Hobart office.
Directly report to the Customer Account Manager and external tax Accountant. Your new role will involve:
- Contract and Procurement activities associated with various suppliers of goods and services that meet the quantity and quality expectations of the company
- Managing invoices, receiving and handling payments, and completing general bookkeeping duties include managing ledgers, account reconciliations and ensure accurate financial record keeping.
- Preparing monthly, quarterly and annually financial statements upon completing related tasks and acquire the approval from the external Accountant. This includes end of year processes and calculating tax liability as well as tax implications of the business.
- Assisting to identify Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for critical areas of the business and prepare performance reports. Interpret the results in comparison with industry and competition, then present it to management for decision making.
- Prepare annual forecast encompassing sales, revenue and expenditure. Quarterly review of the forecast and comparison with actual performance to identify variances and highlight issues in performance for corrective actions.
- Evaluate key business proposals and provide advice on project funding options available.
- Assist conducting internal and external audits such as wage reviews and inventory valuations to avoid any policy implementation violations or fraud. Also, develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls. Review and recommend accounting software upgrades to improve the accounting function accuracy and efficiency.
What you will need to apply:
- Proven ability to successfully manage all stages of the procurement and contracting;
- Bachelor degree in Accounting, Business, or equivalent;
- 1-3 years of experience in procurement role; preferably within the electrical power industry and renewable energy sector;
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate with Vendors;
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills;
- Experience with Microsoft Office suite of products including Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel;
- Experience with accounting software such as Xero or MYOB;
- Ability to prioritize and multitask; and
- Proactive attitude towards work, teamwork, and cooperation.
