Computershare has a great opportunity to join our Digital Foundry department as a DevOps Engineer. The Digital Foundry team combines a dedicated team of technology specialists that exploit and industrialise new technology for innovation and product launch here at Computershare. The team can work across all of Computershare’s lines of business (but are primarily focused on our largest – Issuer Services) to help them deliver value to their customers/clients – making every project (a.k.a Mission) vastly different!
The team currently builds multi-channel, multi-market, event-driven architectures that are cloud (Azure) first.
A role you will love
You will report to the Principal Cloud Architect and will support the Delivery Teams to ensure they have the best environments in which they can work in. Take part in helping drive DevOps practices within the Digital Foundry and the wider Computershare community, working to manage our builds, pipelines and cloud infrastructure.
Some of the other key day to day activities:
- Support the cloud infrastructure requirements of the technologists in the Digital Foundry team
- Support systems quickly so they can be scaled fast and be easily observable
- Work as a part of the Cloud Enablement Team to build pipelines and environments that support the broader Digital Foundry group
- Support the quick and repeatable rollout of infrastructure and applications for the group
- Ensure we use the right tools and infrastructure for the right job
- Work closely with the Digital Foundry’s Delivery Teams, Platform and Technical specialists to ensure we meet the Mission requirements while ensuring that it will scale for the Business Unit if the Mission is successful and is rapidly rolled out
- Be actively engaged with the Regional / Business Unit Infrastructure and Network teams to ensure you understand their pain points, current limitations and what their future direction is
- Ensure the long-term success of the Mission output for the Business
- Look for better ways to do things and continuously improve
- Attend conferences, in house training and share your learnings with the team and encourage others to do the same
- Contribute to the direction of DevOps within the Digital Foundry and the Computershare enterprise. Mentor junior staff within the group
What will you bring to the role?
We are looking for a talented and passionate DevOps Engineer with experience in Microsoft Azure space & exposure to key CI/CD tools. You have a true passion for quality in all stages of software development and for automation and scripting.
Key essential skills required include:
- 2+ years working in Azure Cloud build & support roles
- Strong experience in design implementation and run of Azure-based solutions
- Solid understanding of cloud security concepts, identity and access management and compliance requirements
- Proficiency in scripting and automation using Azure CLI/PowerShell and Bicep/Terraform
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines (YAML) and deployment automation tools (Azure DevOps/Git)
- Strong problem-solving, analytical thinking and teamwork skills
- Passionate about assisting the team to build quality, scalable solutions
- Ability to effectively manage yourself through ambiguity and change
- Continuous improvement and a learning mindset
- Tertiary qualifications in Technology or similar/relevant certifications
Desired skills (but not essential)
- Knowledge/use of Serverless
- APIS / SwaggerHub or equivalent
- Some experience/exposure to API test automation (e.g. PostMan) and mobile test automation (e.g. Appium, Xamarin)
- Networking Architecture
- Knowledge/experience with containers (Docker etc)
