Woofers World is a leading pet care business operating in the inner-eastern suburbs of Melbourne. We provide pet care services, including dog walking, dog daycare, grooming, pet feeding and sleepovers to a fantastic group of long-term clients.
We are looking for a relaxed, happy, dog training professional with proven animal handling experience, especially with grooming, training and dog daycare. Candidates must have a high level of education in dog training, behaviour and handling.
The role, based out of our headquarters and grooming salon on North Road, Ormond, is to support the onsite team and provide oversight to the dog daycare, grooming salon and office staff. Some customer facing services will be required.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ongoing improvements with animal handling procedures, staff training and ultimately ensure the welfare and wellbeing of all the charges are at the highest standard. Candidates with proven experience conducting behavioural assessments will be considered favourably.

Experience with dog grooming procedures and animal training is essential. Candidates must be able to demonstrate an ability to rapidly assess and diagnose canine social behaviour and implement proactive management. Theoretical knowledge of behavioural science and modern dog training techniques is vital. Bilingual candidates that speak Mandarin will be considered favourably.
You will be supported closely by an admin team, Handler Co-ordinator and will report daily to the General Manager.
Successful police clearance check and employment reference checks are required.To be successful in this role, you will have:
Proven experience as a dog trainer
Diploma level applied knowledge of canine behaviour
Experience with salon operations and procedures
A team player with the ability to work unaccompanied
