An opportunity exists for a Registered Nurse to fill a Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2 position as Diabetes Educator serving the Northern Beaches Community. We are looking for a dynamic team member passionate about providing excellent care to patients with Diabetes.

The Diabetes team is Multidisciplinary comprised of registered nurses who are credentialed Diabetes Educators, Dietitian & Endocrinologists.
What you'll be doing
The Clinical Nurse Specialist 2 (CNS2) Diabetes Education is an experienced Registered Nurse authorised to function with an extended autonomy of clinical decision making within the diabetes specialty.
The CNS2 Diabetes Education is responsible for providing a comprehensive diabetes education service to in-patients and outpatients and their families and carers.
The CNS2 Diabetes Education initiates assessment, planning, implementation, diagnosis and evaluation of care required and provides clinical leadership within the diabetes speciality.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
Current Registered Nurse with AHPRA registration and relevant post-graduate qualification in Diabetes Management and Education and at least 3 years minimum experience working in the area of the post graduate qualification.
Demonstrated ability to influence and enhance clinical practice and improve effectiveness of intervention, including introduction of evidence based practice.
Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills including computer literacy and competency in Microsoft office applications.
Demonstrated ability to undertake quality improvement activities and promote an environment that encourages the application of these principles.
