Miwatj Health is an independent Aboriginal Community-Controlled Health Service. Established in 1992 , we’re committed to securing quality health care services across the East Arnhem and enabling Yolŋu powered community health and wellbeing. Miwatj provides culturally appropriate, comprehensive primary health care to over 6 , 000 remote Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander residents across 3 East Arnhem wards. With aHead Office in Nhulunbuy, Miwatj also manages aCorporate Office in Darwin, 7 fixed clinics across the East Arnhemregion.
The Diabetes Foot Complications Officer role will develop an integrated service delivery plan for Miwatj communities focusing on increasing preventative care and early intervention for people at risk of diabetes-related Foot Complications this role embed training and support programs that enable the Yolŋu and non-Yolŋu health workforce to further develop competence in managing patients with “ at-risk foot” complications.
The successful candidate must hold Bachelor level qualifications in healthcare and acurrent practicing certificate from The Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency ( AHPRA ) or relevant regulatory body ; will also have an understanding of and commitment to Aboriginal Community Control, self-determination, and the issues faced by Yolŋu people living in remotesettings.
This is apart-time fixed term position until 30 June 2025 and will involve travel to East Arnhem Land via light aircraft. Please refer to the Job Description for full details and requirements.
