We are seeking a highly motivated Dietitian Assistant to join our team. You will be working with the Dietitians and other Dietitian Assistants of Prince of Wales Hospital to support patient nutrition care. This includes assisting patients with menu selections and acting as a liaison between the Dietetics Department, nursing and food service personnel. This position requires the staff member to work a seven day rotating roster covering 365 days of the year i.e. including weekends and public holidays and with varying shift start times.

Prince of Wales Hospital is in Randwick, in Sydney’s eastern suburbs. The hospital is close to light rail and bus stops. It is a large hospital and a vibrant and friendly workplace. The Dietitian Assistant is an important member of the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics and our team is very supportive, with training and support provided to all team members.

Provide support to the Nutrition & Dietetics team in the delivery of health care services to clients under the direct, indirect or remote supervision of a Dietitian and consistent with South Eastern Sydney Local Health District policies, procedures and standards
Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified for this position following suitable labour market testing.
All workers and new recruits are required to receive 2 doses of a Therapeutic Goods Administration approved or recognised COVID-19 vaccine to commence employment/ engagement or continue to work within a NSW Health service.
A worker and new recruit will be considered compliant if they have a medical contraindication to all available Therapeutic Goods Administration approved or recognised COVID-19 vaccines and provide medical contraindication evidence in line with the policy requirements.
In addition, all Category A workers and new recruits are required to receive one dose of the seasonal influenza vaccine annually to be considered compliant.
Category A workers and new recruits who are non-compliant with seasonal influenza vaccination or have a medical contraindication to influenza or COVID-19 vaccinations must comply with all other infection control risk reduction strategies as directed while working in a Category A position.
