Where you'll be working
The hours of work are 0800-1630, the days to be negotiated at interview. The person will be providing frontline clinical nutrition care working under the direction of Clinical Dietitians in the admitted patient wards.
An Allied Health Assistant (AHA) engages in basic patient care, clinical duties and/or administrative support under the supervision of the designated Allied Health Professional (AHP). Clinical duties may include malnutrition risk re-screening, review of patients who have a nutrition care plan implemented by a Dietitian, and other activities as required.
What you'll be doing
An Allied Health Assistant (AHA) works under direct, indirect or remote supervision and direction of an Allied Health Professional (AHP) to perform clinical and non-clinical duties. Clinical duties may include therapeutic and program related activities and the identification and reporting of changes in the client’s condition. The Allied Health Assistant may be engaged to work in a discipline specific area or assist in the delivery of allied health services across a multi-disciplinary team.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance or other qualification deemed equivalent by NSLHD
- Demonstrated interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Identify skills and knowledge in the provision of assistant's activities to provide support for, AHPs, clients, families and carers as required.
