St George Hospital Nutrition and Dietetics Department is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Dietitian Assistant Supervisor to join their team in a Full Time, permanent capacity. The Dietitian Assistant Supervisor plays a vital role in the provision of safe, specialised and therapeutic diets to inpatients. As part of this role, the preferred candidate would be responsible for co-ordinating the daily operations and work allocations for the Dietitian Assistants; co-ordinating the administrative duties that support the clinical duties of the Nutrition and Dietetics Department; support the interface between Clinical Dietitians and Food Services; and perform some Dietitian Assistant responsibilities including basic patient care under the direction and supervision of a dietitian. Responsible for coordinating the daily operation and work allocation for Dietitian Assistants at St George Hospital; coordinating the administrative duties which support the clinical duties of the Nutrition and Dietetics Department, and acting as a liaison between the Nutrition and Dietetics Department, Nursing and Food Service Personnel in providing dietetic services to all inpatients
Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified for this position following suitable labour market testing.

In addition, all Category A workers and new recruits are required to receive one dose of the seasonal influenza vaccine annually to be considered compliant.
Category A workers and new recruits who are non-compliant with seasonal influenza vaccination or have a medical contraindication to influenza or COVID-19 vaccinations must comply with all other infection control risk reduction strategies as directed while working in a Category A position.

• Nutrition Qualification including Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance (Nutrition Stream), relevant university nutrition qualification, OR equivalent experience as a Dietitian Assistant Supervisor in a health care facility
• Understanding of basic clinical nutrition practices, specialised nutrition products and food service systems.
• Ability to perform a wide range of administrative tasks and meet deadlines, while managing competing work priorities and work flow within allocated resources
• Competent computer skills and high accuracy keyboard/data-entry skills
• Demonstrated application of excellent written and verbal communication skills, customer service and supervision skills
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate a team while working effectively within the team, as well as ability to work independently
• Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of workforce and human resources management including rostering systems, recruitment, grievance handling and performance management
• Ability to work on a seven day roster
