About you:
You are a qualified Dietitian with ability to apply knowledge, skill, and expertise in clinical nutrition and dietetic practice across a broad spectrum of clinical areas and service models including delivery of group programs. You have demonstrated ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment utilising effective written, interpersonal, and consultative communication skills, as well as enable effective interaction with individual clients, groups, peers, professional and operational supervisors and can contribute to quality activities to enhance the delivery of nutrition and dietetic services.
Your opportunity:
To deliver best practice, contemporary, nutrition and dietetic service, appropriate with level of clinical experience to Queensland Health clients of CHHHS in accordance with prescribed professional and ethical standards. The role may require inreach services to Cairns Hospital and outreach services within CHHHS. This position reports operationally to the Cairns Diabetes Centre Team Leader/ Nurse Unit Manager and professionally to the Director of Nutrition and Dietetics.
Your role:
- Manage an allocated caseload to deliver nutrition and dietetic services commensurate with experience (including screening, assessment, intervention, and evaluation) across the continuum of care, within a multi-professional team and in accordance with professional and ethical standards. This includes independent day to day planning, service prioritisation, demand management, administration, service advocacy and resource management activities.
- Incorporate health behaviours change techniques into treatment, where appropriate.
- Contribute to the development of clinical practices, procedures, and protocols within the Cairns Diabetes Centre and or Cairns Nutrition and Dietetic Department.
- Undertake routine dietetic tasks within well-established clinical protocols relevant to the caseload.
- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding, or a willingness to learn, of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures within Far North Queensland and the Torres Strait and apply this knowledge and awareness into clinical practice.
